MEDICARE PLANS
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people who are 65 years old and older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities or specific medical conditions. It is divided into several parts:
- Part A covers hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care.
- Part B covers doctor visits, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.
- Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is an alternative to traditional Medicare that includes coverage from private insurance companies approved by Medicare.
- Part D provides prescription drug coverage.
Medicare helps to cover a significant portion of healthcare costs for eligible individuals, but it may not cover all expenses which is why many people choose to supplement their coverage with additional insurance plans.
